Gillian said : Obviously a bit of a back story to the Devilla 5ks this year but I entered the first one mainly cause I’m not very organised and the other one was full by the time I got round to it. Was pleased to see Mary’s name on the entry list as it meant I’d have company as we hung around at the start. Good facilities at the police college where it is held Really well organised. Huge hall to register in, plenty loos and briefed by the race director at the start about the state of the course (not as muddy as I feared) after the 15k folk had started. I like the course. Mostly running on forest trails. Very scenic running through the woods. All the uphill stuff in the first half then a good flat bit round the loch and down-hill to the finish line where we were rewarded with a quality medal (more use to me than the beer we got last year) water and a banana. And we got an E mail with the results later that day.Time was chipped. Good value for £7.50. Mary and I were both quicker than last year so we felt we had earned our cup of tea in the Starbucks in the police college. Nice to have a coffee shop to relax in afterwards. Attached is the traditional photo of us proudly clutching our medals !!
