Elly said : This was Smokies 25th Anniversary so we were hopeful of a big spread at the end of the race and we were not disappointed – some even got some hot sausage rolls!. Last year the bakers had the wrong date!
In the registration hall they have the race results from the previous year. I knew I had done a fairly good time however was surprised that I completed last year’s 10miler in 93.09. With all the training I have been doing for the D33, I wondered if I would be able to achieve this time again. At the start Rachel, Fiona and Louise disappeared into the distance and the next time I saw any of them was when they were cheering me over the finish line. It was hard but I managed to come in at 92.54.
Goody bag this time was a technical t-shirt and full bottle of wine. Well worth the hills and hard work.
Great course on quiet back roads of Arbroath with a few inclines on the first half. Well marshalled and supports on route keep you going.
