The Marathon RelayGB was a mammoth undertaking. A relay, around Britain, each leg 26.2 miles, running non-stop for 18 days. ERN answered the call for runners and opted to run a leg with a team of four runners. Krista organised a team comprising herself, Giuliano, Mike and Murdo.
Murdo and Mike met up with the organising team for a briefing on an overcast Thursday morning on a back road on a windswept hillside in East Lothian before the baton carrier, on the leg from Edinburgh city center, arrived to hand over the baton and the phones used for GPS tracking to Mike who ran the first 10K or so, accompanied by Murdo on a bike, before swapping over for the next 10K, after which the baton was handed over to Krista and Giuliano who took the baton the rest of the way to Berwick upon Tweed.
The baton eventually travelled 2680 miles, beating the previous record of 1923 miles, and the event raised over £100,000 for Brain Tumour UK.
Photos collected from the runners were compiled into the video below, ERN appear at 2:04.
