Fiona Mackenzie travelled to Floors Castle, Kelso for the seventh and final event of the Borders Winter Cross Country Series
Fi said : “Back to 9th in my age group, on a lovely cross country horse trial course on a beautiful day at Floors Castle. It was humply but less so than others, there was intense sunshine which made some bits trickier but the hardest bit was really getting over the horse jumps. However I did manage, sometimes slightly more graceful than other times but get over them I did.
“It was an amazing setting in the grounds of Floors Castle & I suppose the course was probably quite a good warm up for the deerstalker [soon!]
“Fab value for £12-for up to 7 races & at least 2 cups of soup with rolls & some tea. Must find out about cakes but having seen pictures of the front end-i don’t think they have that many cakes….”
