The fourth of the Borders Cross Country series was held in Peebles and Fi Mackenzie again took part (her third event of the series). Each race is challenging in it’s own way and this time was no different, lots of mud! Fi had a great time and you can see her report and photos below. Thanks to all at Moorfoot Runners (the hosting club) for an excellent event. The next race is on 8th January at Paxton house so why not give it a go. Details at Borders XC.

Fi said: “Once again, I wasn’t last- was 9th in category & returned with both shoes & both ankles. This seemed to be the full monty distance after last weeks slightly shorter course, but the shoe thing was touch & go.
A hilly course with no snow at the start-despite lots on the hills on the way down, but definitely the requisite amount of mud! New shoes aren’t waterproof but at least the black socks don’t need 3 washes to get clean, but there was much squelchy & sooky mud to go through; there is always a note on the website about a solitary shoe found somewhere on the course. Well worth the entry fee – 3 races for £12 & recycling your number through the series makes much sense.
There is a short break until January now – the next one is at Paxton House. Pictures enclosed – me & Linzi [the chauffeur] & my muddy legs, some of the snow on the way, and the race start area [churned up by the juniors before we start – sweet!]”
