Well done to everyone that took part in this annual event. Good turnout despite the fact that the weather this year was foul; persistent rain and wind but some excellent times posted nevertheless. Of particular note is Janet’s 8th in category and that Joelle has set the fastest ERN Ladies 10km time to date!

Weather was foul and the first half two kilometres were tough, running up the hill in Queens Park with the wind in our faces. Then down to the grass market, up to the meadows, down the mound, the Royal Mile and back to the park where a small crowd of sodden supporters were cheering us home. Reasonable goody bag with a T Shirt, a medal, cereal bars, poweraid and (strangely) a small tube of tooth-paste. My time was 59.55 which is almost exactly the same as the first time I ran it all these years ago. Considering it was a much flatter course in these days think I’ll consider it as a success !! Adrienne ran it to but can’t remember her time.

(assuming I filtered the results properly) Which I’m really pleased about as have held on in the top ten, and it’s a tough race. I ran with someone who’s done a couple of one to one coaching sessions with me – so I had him to pace me and get the best out of me. Couldn’t get the under 50 minute elusive time, but then there’s always next year. Hope all’s well, will be out with the club again in a couple of weeks.
Best wishes, Janet”
Maureen said: “Hi, I managed to get a new PB at yesterday’s 10K – 58.37, which for me is much improved from last 10K in May at 59.49. So training at club is paying off… albeit slowly.
All the best, Maureen”
