It got so hot during the run that I had to strip down to just my tri-suit during the run, which I know is what a tri-suit is supposed to be for but I thought I’d be freezing running in wet togs down the prom in Sept, so had added extra layers! The water had been pretty cold and it took me a little while to get into my stride with the swim, but conditions were perfect and calm. I’d never done a transition before so spent a bit much time hopping about out of my wet suit with my 2 year old watching, and I lost a position there (and another one as I accidentally entered myself as a Senior male, doh!) but eventually got off down the Prom. My run came in at only 4 sec slower than my PB of 26:30, which I was very happy with. Thanks to Fi for the loan of a tri-suit! Support was really great from the spectators and organisers.
