Well done to everyone that took part in this lovely event which this year was also one of ERN’s Summer Series Runs. A good ERN turnout (27) for this annual Edinburgh run which is now into its ninth year, and once again the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh kindly agreed to run the route through the gardens (this is not normally allowed!) – the start and finish were located in Inverleith Park.
There were 2 starting times; 6.00pm for run 1 (493 runners) and 7.30pm for run 2 (534 runners). Some of the 6.00pm runners stayed on to spectate complete with pizza and beer in the sunshine! An excellent evening run with a number of ERNs subsequently retiring to Hectors in Stockbridge for a pint.

Gillian said: “Hi, What a lovely night. The weather, the company, the bacon roll and the cup of tea. Race was tough but scenic, great to be able to run in the botanics. An eye popping effort got me round in 28.58. Which is a fair reflection on the amount of running I’m doing at the moment. So all in all a top night.”
Megan said: “It was my first race (challenge?) as I only started running last Sept through Gordon/Grace’s running fitness at meadow bank and Gordon put me onto the ERN which has been super. Combo of running fitness, beach fun and Monday nights have made a world of difference to me. Thanks Gordon and ERN!!!”
Tracy said: “A beautiful evening and what a fantastic opportunity to run around the botantics, I loved it! I’ve been running with Elly’s class on a Monday night. I started a couple of months ago as a complete beginner so I was very pleased with my time. A great start to distance running.”
