Stuart Pirnie and Clint Betteridge travelled to Peebles for the Moorfoot Runners annual Beltane 10km trail race, and a good event it turned out to be despite the wet and muddy conditions. Some impressive times as well! Many thanks to all at Moorfoot Runners for an excellent event – recommended.

Stuart said: “Hi, just a quick update from yesterday.
Clint and I headed to Peebles for the Beltane 10k trail race. The wet conditions made for a challenging and extremely muddy run. The mud certainly added an edge to the downhill stretches but didn’t spoil what was a, hilly at times, but extremely enjoyable run.
Starting at the Gytes Sport Centre the route took us along the river, over the viaduct and up into the woods, finishing at the Gytes. 98 hardy souls entered and received good backing from the drenched locals.
All in all a well organised event, and an enjoyable afternoon in Peebles.
Clint said: “Stuart’s brief hit it on the head, had to laugh as the organisers mentioned at the start be wary of the ‘soft’ conditions. Some fantastic chocolate muffins provided at the end!
No photo’s from me unfortunately, will try make sure I get some for the Corrieayriack in a fortnight!
