Bit worried about the weather given the snow and rain the previous week but while it was dull at first, it turned out to be perfect on the day. 14 runners (Murdo, Susie, Heather-G, Graham, Stuart, Verity, Gillian, Laura, Jennifer, Teresa, Ros, Mike, George and Clint) met at Drumbrae and took in a course that did a 2.5 mile loop via Clermiston Road to the Cramond Brig where a couple of runners peeled off on a 6 mile route. The remainder followed a lovely rural and quiet shore route via the Dalmeny Estate to underneath the Forth Bridge in South Queensferry. The first shore section (at about mile 4) turned out to be very muddy due to the previous rain and heavy logging traffic. Thankfully “trapper” Mike Newton devised a route that missed out that section on the return. A lovely run even if the ice-cream shop at the bridge was closed, lots of Snowdrops everywhere!
