Well done to Andrew Simpson (half marathon), Deirdre Reid, Laurie Yeaman and Stuart Pirnie (all 10km) who took part in this year’s running festival in Jedburgh. This is always a popular event and this year was no different with 521 runners completing the half and 351 the 10km. Weather this year was perfect; calm and sunny, a bit different to the blustery conditions last year. The runs share a lot of the same route, actually they share the hills! A nice scenic, friendly and welcoming event. Thanks to the organisers, marshals and helpers for all their efforts.

Stuart said: “Hi, It was a glorious day. I opted for the 10k as I’ve not been out as much as I would have liked. This was reiterated when I was overtaken by a pumpkin! The race was very well attended and very well organised.
Deirdre said: “Hi, just to say my friend and I ran the 10KM at Jedburgh yesterday. Neither of us had taken part in this event before and we found it a really lovely route. Weather conditions were perfect and everyone very friendly. Organisation was great and we had a super day.
We were both delighted with our times and will certainly do the event next year. Perhaps even try the half (if we do enough training beforehand). We need to practise doing hills……as there were a few!
