Beautiful sunny and calm autumn weather (plus an extra hour in bed as the clocks went back!) resulted in 20 ERNs turning up at Portobello Baths for an 8 mile run. The route was out to Musselburgh harbour, crossing over the River Esk and round the Ash Lagoons before heading back beside Musselburgh Race Course, Musselburgh New Street and Joppa to finish at the Baths. Some runners took a slightly shorter route back once we’d reached the ESK but all agreed that it a fabulous morning out. As it was Halloween, Catherine and Val won prizes (wind-up witch and skull!) for their headgear. Apparently Murdo was also wearing a mask but no one noticed. Thanks to Colin for treat-or-treat sweets; went down well with the coffee and bacon rolls(!) at the cafe afterwards.
