A number of ERNs and friends took part in the Edinburgh Big Fun Run event on what was a sunny, if slightly windy, day. Well done to all the ladies concerned.
Val said: “Hi, Looking forward to seeing how Inverness goes! Hope it aint as windy as here. Few of us did the fun run this morning so here’s what I thought – A very windy day for the Fun Run at Holyrood Park on Saturday! The wind came towards on the way up Queens Drive which was a challenge then on the descent round at one of the lochs felt the wind was gonna sweep me off my feet! Did it in 26.55 so never done a 5km before so I suppose that makes it a PB!! Impressive goody bag – plenty sweets, chewy bars, Body Shop peppermint leg cream etc etc. Enjoyed it all despite the gales! See you soon! Val.”
The organizers say: “The Big Fun Runs are a growing series of 14 Fun Runs being staged across the UK. The distance of each Fun Run is 5Km. Following the success of 2008, the number of events is being increased from 5 to 14. We are aiming to have up to 1000 runners joining in the fun at each of the Big Fun Runs.
Each venue has been carefully selected. They all take place exclusively within scenic parks that are both safe and pleasant running environments. We hope to encourage runners with a range of motivations. This may be simply for leisure and exercise”. More details of the events can be found on the website at: www.bigfunrun.com
