VRR 8K Tan Time Trial, Melbourne, Australia

2009
Apr

While on holiday in Australia earlier this year, Alan and Aicha Reid met up with members of the Victoria Road Runners (VRR) and took part in their monthly 8km Tan Time Trial. The following week, they joined a few club members for a social run in Albert Park. Looked like a fantastic set-up, enjoyed by both ERNs.

The VRRs hold 4k and 8k time trials round the botanic gardens in Melbourne the first Saturday of each month. The run was very well attended by a mixed crowd of all ages and speeds. There was a round of applause at the start for anyone running their first Tan Time Trial and for a few dedicated individuals who had run unbelievable numbers of consecutive trials (we’re talking years!). The following week we joined a few of the club members for a social run round Albert Park in the South of the city which is where the Melbourne Grand Prix is held. Our time for the 8k Time Trial was 46.16.
