Five ERN ladies travelled to Arbroath to take part in the Smokies 10 Mile Road race. This is a popular annual ladies-only race held on an undulating course on the outskirts of the town. The weather stayed fine with some good times being posted. An excellent event with a record entry, enjoyed by all. Thanks to RoadRunPics and to Fi for the photographs. Well done to all. They will be back next year!

Jo said: “A cold Sunday morning brought out Jo, Fi, Elly, Krista and Fiona out for the annual Arbroath Smokies ladies 10mile run. It started off quite cold and windy but the sun came out shining which made it quite a lovely warm run. The undulating course led through farmland with gorgeous views of the coast. Organisation as usual was fantastic with a record entry this year. After the race the usual spread of tea/coffee,cakes and rolls did not disappoint aswell as a fantastic goodie bag (including a wee bottle of wine!) and lots of goodies given away.
The Arbroath Smokie is a fantastic race for this time of year to get back into some longer races/training and is always enjoyed by everyone!!!”
Fi said: “After doing Lasswade last year, and with the training and today’s weather, I found Arbroath a much easier [?] race. We even got home before the water got cold in the showers. A lovely race, even if the horses didn’t dance because I was with someone!!”
