Neil Page and Murdo Macleod took part in the 25th running of the Loch Leven Half Marathon. Not as flat as you may expect, more undulating. In contrast to some previous years, the weather was good all the way round; a wee breeze at some exposed areas but nothing serious. Temperature was ideal reflected in fast times for both – Neil posting a PB and Murdo a second-best ever time. Photos from participants or from Road Run Pics where more photos are available. Thanks to all at Kinross Road Runners for an excellent event.
Neil said “I am sorry to admit that I am slightly at a loss for words after seeing my own photo!! I can only add that I really enjoyed the race (obvious by my cheesy grin); the weather conditions were right, the route round the loch more or less gave a constant view of progress and what was to come, the marshalling and signposting was well organized, the running surfaces were good, the landscape was occasionally spectacular and the brilliant home baking and tea at the end was just the ticket! The only downside I suppose was that there were no proper washing and changing facilities available after. All in all I would definitely do the race again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice Saturday out and possibly a PB!”
Murdo said “I would agree, having had a good day out; well organized, nice route, faster than expected time and lots of cakes at the finish! Recommended.”
