Gordon Faulkner, Gillian Grant and Adrienne Murray took part in the 10km, BUPA Great Edinburgh Run on a warm May morning posting good times given the undulating and challenging course.
Gordon said, ” The run was good, quite humid but not too hot. Good support all the way round as well.”
Gillian said, “The Edinburgh 10k was the usual well organised if rather crowded race. Quite exciting walking up George IV bridge watching runners converging from all directions and hearing the music in the distance. Course was re-jigged so this year we ran down the mound instead of up it, but we still had to run up part of Queen’s Park. New inovation was banks of speakers set up in the park playing loud music to motovate us up the hill. It sort of worked !! Nice finish into the meadows, a quality T shirt and a reasonable goodie bag make it good enough value to go back next year. If nothing else you bump into loads of your running buddies !!
And how on earth does Gordon look so cheery in all his photos running as fast as he does ?”
